Detroit 1986 – The anatomy of cars
March 3, 2018 In Rewind

In 1986 after my MFA in product design in Gothenburg, I had a year or so at Center for Creative Studies in Detroit to focus on automotive design. Quite a contrast. We were drawing cars the same way as we did croquis  nude drawings at the university in Sweden. Using the same tools, charcoal on big size newsprint paper paper, such a blast. Sitting for hours at the Henry Ford Museum learning about automotive anatomy, and then doing our own experiements on proportions.  Great teachers too, from the big three. Tomt Peters, Preston Brunning, Homer C. Lagassy and so on. Such a valuable time!
